Generalized Anxiety Disorder

A. Excessive anxiety and worry occurring for more days than not for at least 6 months, about a number of events or activities (such as work or school performance).
B. The individual finds it difficult not to worry.
C. Associated with 3(or more) of the following 6 symptoms. Note: only one item is required in children.
1. Restlessness or feeling keyed up on edge.
2. Being easily fatigued
3. Difficulty concentrating or mind going blank.
4. Irritability.
5. Muscle tension.
6. Sleep disturbance (difficulty in initiation or maintenance of sleep or restless, unsatisfactory sleep.
D. Symptoms should cause clinically significant distress or impairment of functioning in social, occupational and other important areas of life.
E. The symptoms should not be because of the Substance or any other medical condition
F. The symptoms should not be caused by other psychiatric illnesses.
